Lake Minnetonka Fishing Guide FAQs
The Fishing Experience
Lake Minnetonka is the biggest lake in the Twin Cities with over 14,000 acres. For comparison, the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, which includes Bde Maka Ska (formerly Lake Calhoun), Lake Harriet, Cedar Lake, Lake of Isles, and Brownie Lake cover around 1,100 cares. Lake Minnetonka is over 12 times larger than all of those lakes combined!
Because of the size of the lake, it has all kinds of structure for a variety of fish. We've got tons of Largemouth Bass, plenty of Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Musky and some of the best panfish action around. Whether you're brand new to fishing or you've been at it for years, Lake Minnetonka has something for everyone. It's why Lake Minnetonka is THE fishing destination in the Minneapolis metro area and one of the more popular fishing destination in the state of Minnesota.
